Well it is official, school is out for Summer! This is both exciting and crazy at the same time. Yesterday the older boy had one hour of school and it did not take long to have him and the middle guy start fighting. I sure hope the summer goes a little smoother then yesterday.
Morning Bike Rides
With the older boys too old for the bike trailer and too small to ride with me I had to figure out how I was going to ride this summer. I have school starting in the evening in a couple weeks so that only left the morning. So I get up early and go riding before the wife leaves for work. Most days I should be back before the boys are even awake. Two days down and it has been rather enjoyable.
Guitar Hero
Here is how a real guitar hero sounds. No little red, green, blue and orange buttons. This Single is from my Brothers upcoming CD “High Plains Drifter”
Back to the Daily Blogging.
Now that things are getting a bit less crazy I will be back at my daily blog. I need the time to keep me from losing my mind. Time, however is not always on my side.
Testing
I have two major tests this summer. The first one is for the CNA Registry and will hopefully net me an evening job at a hospital. In order to stay above water especially with school I need to be a “Working At Home Dad.” The second test is the NLN Pre RN Entrance Exam which will determine if I get into the nursing program. Time to hit the books…
The little one love lions and knows the little yellow weeds are Dandelions so he grabs them (None in my yard thank you) and yells LION!
School
Well after a really long 8 weeks my life is a little slower, at least in relation to school vs. everything else. Those 8 weeks I had 11 Credit Hours going. I had 2 classed, Nursing 110 and Biology 123. I Took my NUR110 Final Thursday night and got my grade for the class which is an “A” and I had my two Biology Finals on Saturday and the teacher posted the grades on Sunday and I again earned that “A” Two classes down and many more to go, but I am off to a strong start! Up next, Microbiology starting the first week of June.
Sick Kids, Kind of…
Well my two younger guys have had an issue with their eyes. After trying the pink eye meds it looks like it was Viral rather then Bacterial. Joy! They are both getting better, but it has taking a long time.
Yard Work
I spent a good 10 hours doing yard work yesterday and I am feeling it places I did not realize I actually had. Lots of weeding and moved some stones around and not to mention the mowing and trimming. Need to spread some fertilizer this afternoon. Friday we get 7 yards of mulch delivered and I have drafted my younger brother to help with that.
The 5
Time – Will be gaining nearly 40 hours a week since school is out. NICE!
Mulch – 7 yards coming… That is a lot of mulch!
Nursing Advisor - Meeting with a Nursing Advisor for the first time tomorrow. Now that I have a little school under my belt I can make sure my path is correct.
Sunny Days- I sure like having sunny days.
More Yard Work Coming – Daily yard work scheduled for the next few weeks. Joy.
Wow… Last of my Finals tomorrow. A little stressed out the past few weeks with too much school work and balancing everything else. I finished my NUR-110 Class with an “A” I take the State Certification Exam on June 19th. Two Biology Finals tomorrow one for Lab and one for Lecture. I have studied so much I think my mind is leaking.
With my school schedule wrapping up and the yard work increasing my limited time just became more limited. I have 2 weeks left after tomorrow and I am excited to be completing some of the courses. My CNA state exam in June 19th and my NLN Pre RN exam is June 26th. I am hoping to have the CNA translate into a Part Time job at one of the area hospitals so I can get some valuable experience while I continue on into the nursing program. Once my two weeks of school end I will have a few weeks off before the summer session starts. That time will be spent reviewing for the NLN exam so that when I screen in January I will have a appropriate score to get into the program.
Poor Apple Yield This Year.
Well it looks as if I am going to have a very poor apple yield this fall. Currently there are hardly any blossoms on the trees which translate into very little fruit. I know that the apple trees can be cyclical, but this is going to make me sad. I guess I am going to have to supplement my applesauce this fall with some Apple Orchard picking. Unless someone has apples they want made into sauce this fall. I could work something out…
My once almost daily blog has become a once a week thing if I am lucky. This school semester is wrapping up and spring projects are in full bloom so to speak.
Don’t forget about me as my time fades for the moment…
