Dadstock III
Well the third anual At Home Dads weekend “Dadstock” was a blast. We had a few late cancels so our number was only 10 this year. Still we had more then enough Beer and Food for 3 x that. For some the weekend started Friday Night and others Saturday Morning. A few guys flew in for the weekend and we ate, drank and had a really good time.

Running Man
Well I am back to running after a few weeks recovering from the sprained knee. It is amazing how much my feet hurt less with a little running here and there. Need to find out if a very light run and a medium run alternating daily would be better or worse. The days I don’t run my feet are stiff.
CT Scan
Had my CT scan for me deviated septum. When the tech started showing me the images she was rather suprised at how narrow my left side actually is. Slighgest thing and I can not breath. Now I get a follow up with the Dr. and we discuss my options which looks like Septoplasty.
The Frustrating 5′s
Well th middle guy is 5 and I have to say after having two boys getting to this point as of right now it is the woarst of times. I have to say once they reach about 4 and a half they make things a little more difficult. This continues until after Kindergarten. (At least with my oldest) So there is hope that my middle guy will begin to lighten up by the time Summer Break hits. Why is it the frustrating 5′s you ask? Well he does anything and everything to make things that much more diffucult for everyone. (LOL) He has stopped listening, acts up and my favorite has MAJOR temper fits at the slightest issue. I remember this well with my oldest and no matter what we did he would act up. So we do our best to reward the positive beavior and ignore the negative behavior which is extra dificult when he wake the house up at 6:00 am throwing a fit. Hopefully we will live through this and have recovered in time for the little guy to start the Frustrating 5′s.
The 4 Year Plan
With an eye for the future and wanting to have a career that will still allow me to be with the kids as well as help others it has begun. I met with a advisor at the Local College, attended the Nursing meeting and come January will start the path to becoming an RN. Sometime before Thanksgiving I will have to register for the CNA course (Certified Nursing Assistant) which is required to get into the nursing program. This will also give me the opportunity to work at the local hospital earning vaulable experience as I take the Science Prerequsits I still need before taking the NLN. My goal is come this Spring be employed as a Part Time CNA on the Night Shift and or Weekend Shifts while attending school. Hopefully by my 40th Birthday I will acheive my goal of becoming an RN.
The 5
- Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 – 11-10-09 is the release date and I am rather excited. Selling some old game stuff on ebay to pay for it. I have not been this excited about a video game in a long time.
- Unemployed Again – Well I made it back to my old company for a whole month before they had to do layoffs again. I am now an Independent Contractor for them and will work as needed. I am also an Independent Conractor for another company doing minor computer related work and applicatio processing. Should have some work from them by November, until then I am officially UNEMPLOYED. After I take the CNA course and get certified I can keep the Contracting work as I want and start my new career.
- No Work = More Housework Done- Since I have no other obligations for the next few weeks work wise I have been able to get a ton done during the week freeing up the nights more for the wife and us on the weekend. Gives more time to work on the “Honey Do List”
- The Move – My Grandmother is moving into a retirement/nursing complex this weekend. It will allow her to be more social as well as take a large burden off my father her Son In Law. Since my mom passed it has been up to him and he has struggled. The end came when he pnemonia and a heart attack. He has open heart the first week of October to repair that damage.
- New Formats Coming – Well I have decided to make a few changes to my blog by adding a few weekly articles focusing on everything from family to shopping to sports. I might even throw in a few product reviews.

sorry to hear about the layoff. I’m also happy to hear that you are still pursuing the nurse option. My oldest is 5, and oh boy are you right! I’m glad to hear that there might be an end to the bad and annoying behavior. I need you to read my blog and tell me if I am on the right path or not.
I didn’t have septoplasty, but they did go in and enlarge the areas where my sinuses drain. they were going to do a septoplasty as well, but decided against it once they were in. I hope your surgery went well. I noticed a comment on the most recent post about an extended stay. you’ll have to tell us what happened. I highlighted my experience on my blog as well.
