Swimming Pools, Movies Stars…

Well at least swimming pool…

13 Feet Across and 42 Inches deep currently filled with very cold water.  I spent a good portion of Saturday afternoon putting the pool together and then it took forever to fill.  The build was not too difficult, but just time consuming.

Open Box…

The parts were really packed in tight and I actually did the build without a visit to the Doctors Office.  Well this afternoon after the solar cover had been on all day the boys wanted to try out the pool.  I warned them it would be a couple days before the chill was out of the water.  The said they did not care.  While 7yo was slowly climbing down the ladder I gave him some help and he went in and under.  He was so mad and so cold…  3yo climbed up the ladder, touched the water and decided it was a bit too cold.

Friday Follow-Up

Well I had a follow-up on Friday for the wonderful wood chunk that was pulled out of my hand.  I was actually seeing my Doctor since another Doctor in the practice saw me and took out the wood last Friday.  She took a look at it and said it looked great.  When she asked if I had any concerns about anything I for once actually was in a hurry to answer the question.  I have been feeling a bit “Squeezed” and uncomfortable on my “Left” side.  So I get to drop trow, turn my head and cough.  After inspection and the wonderful hernia test that literally had me on my toes the diagnosis… HERNIA!!!  So I get to have ANOTHER procedure down below.  It is interesting that I now know EXACTLY what they are looking for when they do the test.  Ever since I was younger I never really knew when the hernia test was down EXACTLY what the symptoms were.  Now I know and I wish I did not know.  I need to contact a surgeon tomorrow and get everything set for a repair job.  Then once it is down I can not LIFT or STRAIN at all for a little while.

Sunday Yard Work…

Well today I finished up staining the fort, doing finale touch ups and of course cut the grass.  I was basically going from 8:30-8:30 in the yard and then tonight I hit the grocery store without the kids.  The weeks are looking lighter thankfully, but there will be at least one week when I do almost nothing!

The 5

  1. HERNIA - OUCH!!!
  2. Pool - One more thing off my list to do and one more hazard in my yard for my children.
  3. Swing Set - EVERYTHING is finally done.  I have one more thing I want to do, but it can wait a little while.  I want to put the boys names on the swing set with metal lettering.
  4. Blogging - Been difficult to find the time, but I am guessing very shortly I will have a bunch of time to sit around and type since I will not be able to do much else.
  5. Nanny - Well there is a good possibility that my 14 year old Niece will be coming to help with the kids while I am recovering.  We might even have her stay a few nights so the morning go smoother.

Daily Observation: A Hernia is just one of those things you never quite understand… Until you have one!

  1. Awesome pool! We have been looking for something just like this! Where did you get it at?

Every pool we find is either too small or too shallow… :D

  2. How do you have time to do anything except sleep and your projects? They are enough to give many men hernias! Take it light.

  3. I feel your pain…I had a hernia when I was back in high school and let me tell you - not the best thing to go through but everything healed without problem, just takes a little while to get back on you feet and able to bear heavy loads so be glad the pool and swingset are done now. Speaking of pool and swingset…geez…you’re making me look like I don’t do anything…:-) Nice looking pool and the family should really like it (once the weather turns nicer). Good like with the surgeon appt!

  4. [...] doing some research on line, some price comparisons, etc.  And even saw another Dad blogger put one of these pools up.  There are a few kinds of pools that were in our price range.  The ones where you inflate a ring [...]
