The sun was shinning bright with a very slight breeze blowing. After we did our morning routine and took 7yo to the bus it was time to get out and ride. With the weather the last couple weeks being really bad and potty training it has been difficult to get out much. I set everything up and got 3yo happy in the trailer. We hit the road and I was hoping for 30 minutes riding. By the 10 minute mark 3yo started to complain a bit. I told him we were going to ride even if he complained. He muttered a few things which I am sure with 3yo for “Kiss My Butt” until at the 20 minute mark he fell silent. I look back to see him slouched over sleeping. I spend the next 25 minutes riding in peace and quiet on a very beautiful day.
As we return and I start putting the bike away he is still asleep. I convert the trailer into a stroller and decide to go for a short walk to let him sleep more. We make it 3 houses to a neighbor friends and he wakes. His little friend is out side so two 3 yos a 1 yo start to play as their mom and I chat for a while. A good time for the boys and some conversation for us with someone over 3…
The rest of the day was fine and we had a good time. 3yo relaxed while I was able to get some work done.
7yo and I had football tonight and we had a scrimmage against one of the other teams. I have been taking on more and more coaching responsibilities as we go along. We are all busy and the two head coaches can not be around all the time. Other family and work responsibilities. The scrimmage is great since each team only has about 15 players making full practices impossible. 7yo was put into a few different positions since 2 main starters we not available tonight. There are plans in the works to get a practice together with just the “LITTLE” guys from each of the 4 teams. One of the coaches will run it on a non practice night just to get the little guys involved and have a chance against others their own size. Each team practices 2 times a week with an optional 3rd. I am excited since all the kids would be able to tackle, block and play with each other.
The 5 (Complaining Edition)
- SUV & Cell Phones - After practice each night there are plenty of moms and dads picking up their kids. Too many however are trying to drive WAY TOO FAST and talk on the cell phone in the parking lots. There are hundreds of kids ages 6-14 and this is too dangerous.
- Stop Lights - I am never really in a hurry, but the stoplight at my subdivision can be short at times. I have found too many people not paying attention and waiting to go. If the light is green and traffic the other way is stopped it is safe to go.
- Speeding - This morning while the boys were playing a young kid drove WAY too fast down the street. 20 MPH is not the same a 40 MPH. Unfortunately I missed the plate. I have seen the car before so I will keep an extra eye out.
- Cable Modem - My Comcast connection resets no less then once a week forcing me to reset the modem in order to get a connection. This is even more of an issue when I have VONAGE… Granted most people call my cell
- Parking Over the Sidewalk - The is a town ordinance that states you can not park over the sidewalk. When there are parties and other things no one cares. However EVERY DAY is a bit if an issue for me. A house a few doors down has the drive and sidewalk COMPLETELY blocked making the kids have to walk into the street. There is no room between the cars they are packed so tight…
Daily Observation: Too many people are about me and pay little attention to the others around them.
The Grumpy Old AMAM: Lately I have just been so short and grumpy. I am guessing it has to do with my diet change. 20 days and no Caffeine, Soda and Alcohol not to mention more exercise and better food choices… Adjustment period…
